About

Small shop, one watch at a time.

Precision Watch Mods builds automatic watches from hand-picked parts. Every watch starts as a request from you and gets built for you. Nothing comes off a shelf.

We don't keep a warehouse of stock. When you order, we buy the exact case, dial, hands and crystal you chose, so you're never stuck with whatever happened to be left over, and we can keep prices honest.

Each movement gets checked and regulated before it's cased up, and every finished watch is tested for timekeeping before it ships.

Questions

How does ordering work?

Design your watch in the builder and send the request. We confirm part availability and email you an invoice. Once it's paid we order your parts, build the watch and ship it.

Why do I pay before the build starts?

Every watch is made to order with parts bought for your build specifically. Paying up front is what lets us source exactly what you picked.

How long does it take?

Usually 3 to 5 weeks from payment. Most of that is parts shipping to us, the build itself takes a few days. We'll email you when it ships.

How do I pay?

You'll get an invoice by email that you can pay by card. We never ask for payment through social media DMs.

Can I cancel?

You get a full refund if you cancel before your parts are ordered. After that, parts costs can't be refunded since they were bought for your build.

Which movements do you use?

Seiko NH35 automatic for three-hand watches, Seiko NH34 automatic for GMT watches, and the Seiko VK63 for chronographs. The VK63 is a meca-quartz: battery powered timekeeping with a mechanical chronograph, so it never needs winding.

Are the gold finishes solid gold?

No. Gold and rose gold options are a PVD coating over stainless steel. It's durable and holds its color well, and it keeps prices far below solid gold.

Can I swim or dive with it?

No. Every watch we build is water resistant, not waterproof. It handles rain, sweat and washing your hands, but it isn't rated for swimming, diving, showering or hot tubs, even the dive and GMT styles. Water damage from submerging the watch isn't covered.

Do you service or repair watches?

We service watches we built. Get in touch and we'll sort it out.
